Hey, everyone. I know it has been a while, and I have been devouring short novelettes (mostly e-books) over the past couple of months. They are all free, and through different sources. They are all different themes and genres.
Blind River was the last one I read. It is a thriller by Ben Follows.
In case you have never heard of the book:
An FBI detective and his partner are sent back to his childhood town to solve a case of disappearing girls. He has a new life, a good job, and he does not want to relive things from his past. But, he will be forced to do just that.
In case you have never heard of the author:
This is the Canadian’s debut novel, a thriller, available on Amazon.
In case you were wondering what I thought of it:
I felt like it moved along well, but left me with some questions (which I won’t post, bc SPOILERS). The characters were decent, but could have been better developed (which could be addressed in subsequent FBI thrillers, I believe). It currently holds 4/5 stars with over 350 reviews on Amazon. I would be interested in reading a follow up to see if the characters, history, and setting are better relayed.
